This Boutique Hotel was built as a caravanserai in the 16th century in Ankara Castle, invites guests for a journey in history combining Divan´s exceptional service quality with its 19 exclusive rooms, each designed and decorated with a different concept. Historical Divan Cukurhan, built as a caravanserai in the 16th century in Ankara, was renovated with respect to its original structure and has started welcoming guests as a boutique hotel in November 2010. One of the outstanding features of Divan Cukurhan is 19 guest rooms designed with different concepts and different architecture such as Bamboo, Indian, British, Ottoman, Tibetan, German, Venetian, Bosphorus and Peking, invites guests to experience different worlds. The antique furniture and accessories placed in each room are carefully selected concerning each concept to create a historical atmosphere. An exclusive selection of the Turkish and international cuisines, prepared by Divan´s famous chefs in the Avlu Restaurant, accompanies your historical journey in the hotel along with delicious cocktails and quality wines in Avlu Pub. Divan Cukurhan is within 3 km distance to Kizilay district, 28km from Esenboa International Airport, 4km to Ataturk´s mausoleum, Anitkabir, and 5km to Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

The Çukurhan hotel is located opposite to the main entrance of the Ankara Citadel, close to the site which was formerly known as the Horse Market, and on the west side of the present Çengelhan Rahmi M. Koç Museum. Under the Ottomans, the Han was affiliated to Sheikh ul-islam (the chief religious official in the Ottoman Empire) Ankaravî Mehmed Emin Efendi Foundation.

The brick and stone building with wooden planks and bays has a tile roof and is supposed to have been built in the late 16th or early 17th century. The Çukurhan functioned as a typical Ottoman city caravanserai: in other words it was an Inn with a marketplace in the courtyard. It retained its commercial importance through the years with many shops and workplaces that sold a vast range of goods including mohair, wool, grains, dried fruits, vegetables, etc.
